Mark's gotten addicted to Good Eats with Alton Brown and decided to start making his own protein bars, granola bars, and rice crispy treats. He started tonight with the rice crispy treats and they were a hit. We made ours using raisins instead of dried blueberries and cherries and wild flower honey rather than orange blossom but the kids loved them. A lot less sugar than the regular variety plus some dried fruit and slivered almonds for protein make it something I don't mind the kids eating for an afternoon snack.

Insight from the Dalai Lama:
Old friends pass away, new friends appear. It is just like the days. An old day passes, a new day arrives. The important thing is to make it meaningful: a meaningful friend--or a meaningful day.
