Breaking the addiction!

I've had to come to the sad realization that all of my children are addicts....to anything monitor related. Nico gets up in the morning and as soon as he's done nursing, he gets on a computer. The big boys lie, cheat, and sneak time in front of whatever they can find on a constant basis and it's out of hand. Today it came to a head when we trusted the two biggest to work on cleaning their room (a task that is sorely past due) and when Mark came home from soccer they were sitting in front of the TV because "We did our chores so we get our 1/2 hrs of tv time" regardless of the fact that they had watched TV all morning before Mark left for soccer with the younger and two and I left to go to Curves and run some errands.

So we are breaking the addiction. We are going to find a way to remove everything monitor related for a week. Computers will only be accessed for schoolwork and there will be no TV time for anything. They are all going to have to find other things to do with their time. We'll make a decision after this first week how much further we need to take things but I'm taking control of my children back!
