The mom of the other two girls in Nico's swim class came up to me yesterday to say how thrilled she was that Nico was in their class. Huh?! Someone is happy that Nico is in a class with their kids?! Wow! Apparently her older daughter (5yrs) has decided that if Nico can do it, than she can too and has gotten a bit of a competitive edge going. Her younger daughter is still pretty fearful (3½) but she's hoping that seeing her big sister and a younger boy swimming all over the place will help motivate her as well. I have to admit, Nico is VERY comfortable in the water and swims like a fish. I don't know if it's the influence of the girls in the class, not having mommy there, being on best behavior for a teacher, or some combination thereof, but he always does exactly as he is told in class, never swimming off, and always waiting patiently for his turn.
It gives me hope.
