Orwell's lecture about the problems with communism is a great introduction to his works, especially for high school students. This is my second reading of the book as I read it last year with Christopher and now I read it with Jason. Christopher still enjoyed it and was happy to reread it. I will say that I think 1984 was a better book and definitely much more relevant to today than Animal Farm but it's very easy to put this one into historical perspective and incorporate the thinking of the time into the discussion.
