Dark and gritty are probably the best words I've heard to describe the world of Watchmen. The story revolves around the aging costumed heroes who have been forced into retirement, the death of one of their own, and their search for what is really happening. The mystery goes much deeper than simply the death of the Comedian tho and what they find is a man willing to sacrifice millions for a greater goal. Can they stop him and if they can, should they? These are some of the deeper issues at work.
Winner of the Hugo, one of Time's top 100 best novels, on the 1001 Books to Read Before You Die...this is not your typical superhero comic.
