The 6th book in the Mercy Thompson series. Mercy and Adam have gotten married and Uncle Mike has loaned them a trailer for their honeymoon while they have been graciously invited to stay at a campsite owned by another fae. Well, you know what they say about accepting gifts from the fae. It's never safe. Turns out the river near their campsite has a monster in it and when rescuing someone from it, Mercy gets marked by the creature. She and Adam team up with some local Native Americans to try to stop it but how to stop a creature that lives in both the spiritual and the physical realm?
Fast paced and a fun read, my only complaint is that there was no overarching story to this one. It could have almost as easily been a stand alone book as there is very little reference to the past and doesn't look to have much consequences for the future.
